It started in 1997. Not with a business plan, but with a problem we had to solve. A family business from day one, we founded Epoch Design, bringing solid hardwood children's furniture to market and eventually landing the first solid hardwood bunk bed at Costco.

In 2006, our founders had their mail stolen. So we designed and patented a robust locking mechanism that could stand up to real theft, and Mail Boss was born.

They've always been family, and around here, family comes to work. But as we started looking more closely at the products available for our pups, we saw an opportunity. We've always believed great products shouldn't cost a fortune, and we built K9 Kennel Boss to reflect that. We've led the way on innovative features, like knurled bolts for a more rigid, tool-free assembly, that competitors have since adopted.

That DNA runs through everything we've ever built. Better products at a better price point. Built to last, not to be replaced. It's our spirit, across Epoch Design, Mail Boss, and K9 Kennel Boss alike.

We're based in Arlington, WA, grounded in an expansive design and patent portfolio built from real-world experience. Every product is backed by people who genuinely care, and our customer service reflects that. That commitment extends beyond what we sell. A portion of every purchase goes toward U.S.-based 501c3 nonprofit dog rescues dedicated to saving dogs and finding them forever homes.
